Creating an S3 Bucket Lifecycle Policy

Storing AWS Cost and Usage Reports, depending on your size, can get quite pricey. Tim was designed to reduce the need for storage of reports for analysis on our customers' part to save on the S3 bill. For this reason, we recommend that you create a S3 Bucket Lifecycle Policy of 5 days.

Background

By default, Taloflow stores your past reports so that less recent reports (more than 5 days old) do not increase your bill for S3.

Instructions

Assign a Lifecycle Policy of 5 days

  • Go to the S3 Console and select the bucket with the Cost and Usage Report created for Tim
  • Click the Lifecycle button
  • Click + Add life cycle rule
  • Select Current and Previous Versions
  • Set the Expiration, Deletion and Clean Up Multipart at 5 days a piece
  • Click Next then Click Save
